    Blue Envelope Program

    The Blue Envelope Program is a community-focused initiative designed to promote calm and informed communication during traffic stops, emergency responses, and other interactions with first responders. Participants use a clearly marked blue envelope to store essential documents—such as a driver’s license and registration—alongside guidance for both the individual and first responders.

    Bike Rodeo at Thorntonfest

    Join the Thornton Police and Fire Departments for a free bicycle safety and skills course for kids of all ages! Be sure to enter the raffle for a bike giveaway! Bicycles and helmets will be provided while supplies last.

    We will be set up in the Kid Zone on the east side of Margaret Carpenter Field. Just look for the Thornton Police Department's tents on June 7th between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

    Justice Center Building Entrance Under Construction

    Starting May 16, the main entrance to the City of Thornton Municipal Court will be closed for construction for approximately 6–8 weeks.

    During this time public access to the Municipal Court will be available through the Police Department entrance during business hours:

    Municipal Court: Monday–Thursday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

    Police Department: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

    Directional signage is posted at the Police Department entrance to assist visitors. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
