    Fireworks Enforcement Underway

    The Thornton Police Department has a comprehensive fireworks enforcement and outreach plan in place from June 20 through July 9. This includes dedicated enforcement units, increased public awareness efforts, and targeted education in areas with frequent violations.

    National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work.     Blue Envelope Program

    The Blue Envelope Program is a community-focused initiative designed to promote calm and informed communication during traffic stops, emergency responses, and other interactions with first responders. Participants use a clearly marked blue envelope to store essential documents—such as a driver’s license and registration—alongside guidance for both the individual and first responders.

    Justice Center Building Entrance Under Construction

    Starting May 16, the main entrance to the City of Thornton Municipal Court will be closed for construction for approximately 6–8 weeks.

    During this time public access to the Municipal Court will be available through the Police Department entrance during business hours:

    Municipal Court: Monday–Thursday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

    Police Department: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

    Directional signage is posted at the Police Department entrance to assist visitors. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
